Dr. Summerville
is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. She completed her
residency and fellowship at the North Shore LIJ Medical Center (now
known as Northwell Health) where she served as Chief Resident. She
received her medical education through the State University of New York
at Downstate. Dr. Summerville has private practice office locations in Bayside and Hauppauge. In addition, she has provided services to Emotionally Disturbed and Blind children through The New York Institute For Special Education and she provides psychiatric services in community-based clinics throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. She has many years experience in treating psychiatric illness in children and adolescents. She believes that every child or individual is part of a family system and she is aware that therapeutic interventions often involve more than just medication. She has 14 years experience treating issues such as ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Behavior Problems, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Mood Disorders, Psychosis, Tic Disorders, and simply reducing individual and family stress. She chooses not to define individuals by their illness but treats their symptoms so they can function to their fullest potential and be the best person that they can be.
